ShaunAnne Tangney, a California native, is currently an Associate Professor of English at Minot State University in North Dakota. Her primary scholarly interests focus on the literature of the US west, most notably the poet Robinson Jeffers and the novelist Kate Braverman, although, following Gary Snyder's dictate that we must "become native to a place," she is also developing work on the literature of Great Plains.
She has recently led the effort at Minot State to create a new major, Studies in Community and Environment, which should begin offering courses in the Fall of 2011.
For ShaunAnne, California is something that happened to her and has never completely unhappened, and she is interested to see what happens at the intersection of nature dreaming and California dreaming.
